It has been a great year at The Ramblers’ Rest, obviously a busy one as you can see by the date of the last news I posted!! Or is that a poor excuse?!
We were privaleged to host 3 lovely weddings this year. Richard and Fiona, (pictured!!) Simon and Beverley and Phil and Helen. They were all very special days and all very individual to each couple, and it was a great honour to be asked to be part of such intimate occasions. We wish them all the very best for their future together. Though it is lovely that we do see them all regularily whether it be in The Tea Room, Restaurant or an overnight stay! We continue to do well as THE perfect venue for your private party dining. It is ideal for that special get together with family, friends and work colleagues, private, intimate and tailor made to your requirements. Minimum of 10 people max of 25 Christmas parties start next week, so apologies if any one is offended when the Christmas decos are all up! We are lucky in that we have facilities that attract a varied cross section of customer and the Tea Room has always been a hot spot for cyclists , but it really has got busier and busier this year. Sundays especially are heaving with cycling clubs, families, and groups of friends, all enjoying the Yorkshire Wolds with its challenging rides, either competitively or for more gentle relaxing exercise! Our accommodation is continuing to attract walkers and cyclists doing the long distance walks and Way of the Roses cycle ride. All enjoying a well deserved overnight stay in our luxury facilities, to indulge and recharge batteries before the next days challenge. Being a perfect base here on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, we also attract visitors wanting to explore, within easy reach, the East Yorkshire coastline and The Yorkshire Moors or visit our local cities, historic York, Beverley, Hull etc… Our staff are all very excited as The Christmas season begins, something about decorations, roaring log fires, Christmas Parties and endless Christmas music HO! HO! HO! Talking Staff we have had quite a change round this year. As regular customers will know we have lost three of our older girls to new careers or university, Charlotte, Emily and Ellie. We really miss them as they have been with us for years, and feel they have been a big part of The Ramblers’ Rest. Saying that, they all keep lending a hand when they are home and remain keen supporters and tasters of The Ramblers’Rest menu!!! Charlotte is a family member and lives on the farm next door and has actually been a helping hand in the kitchen since she was 4 yrs old!!! Though living next door doesn't always have its advantages when we are very busy and shes on a day off – Hey Charlotte?! May I just add that our new recruits are doing a really great job and learning the ropes fast. Let’s hope they don’t end up quite as bonkers as the two in disguise above!!! We have just a few dates left over Christmas, so if you’ve still not found that special party venue for your celebrations then please give us a call! Contact Angela 01759 305220. You may want to prolong it with an overnight stay, and then enjoy a Winter walk in the beautiful Wolds countryside the next day, finishing off in The Tea Room next to a roaring log fire with one of our amazing Hot Chocolates and a homemade cake! Please call Zoe for Accommodation enquiries. 01759 303292. It just goes to say ‘WE WISH EVERYONE A FANTASTIC CHRISTMAS AND A HEALTHY AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!’ Thank you to all our customers old and new, we have some very special customers and we thank you for your continued custom and support. Look forward to seeing you over the festive period! x
